Estroven® Sleep CoolTM Directions for Use

  • Women (menopausal/post-menopausal): Take 1 caplet daily, at or before bedtime. Take a few hours before or after taking other medications or health care products. Do not drive or use machinery for 5 hours after taking melatonin.
  • Recommended use: Soy Isoflavones may reduce severe and frequent menopausal symptoms (such as hot flashes and/or night sweats). Black Cohosh helps relieve symptoms associated with menopause. Black Cohosh is used in herbal medicine to help ease nervous tension (calmative). Melatonin helps to reduce the time it takes to fall asleep and increase the total sleep time in people suffering from difficulty sleeping. For use beyond four weeks, consult a health care practitioner. For reduction of menopausal symptoms, use for a minimum of two weeks to see beneficial effects.
  • Contra-indications: Do not use if you currently have or previously had breast cancer and/or breast tumors or if you have a predisposition to breast cancer, as indicated by an abnormal mammogram and/or biopsy, or a family member with breast cancer. Do not use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Known Adverse Reactions: Mild gastrointestinal symptoms (nausea, vomiting, or cramping) have been known to occur in which case, discontinue use. Rare allergic reactions to Melatonin have been known to occur in which case, discontinue use.
  • Cautions and Warnings: Ensure you are up-to-date on mammograms and gynecological evaluations prior to use. Consult a health care practitioner if symptoms persist or worsen. Consult a health care practitioner prior to use if you have a history of hormonal or gynecological disease, including ovarian cancer, endometriosis, and/or uterine fibroids, if you have a liver disorder or develop liver-related symptoms, if you are taking hormone replacement therapy (HRT), including thyroid hormone replacement therapy. Discontinue use and consult a health care practitioner if you experience breast pain, discomfort and/or tenderness, or if you experience a recurrence of menstruation and/or uterine spotting. Consumption with alcohol, other medications or natural health products with sedative properties is not recommended. If you have one of the following conditions, consult a health care practitioner prior to use: asthma, cardiovascular disease, chronic kidney disease, depression, diabetes or hypoglycaemia, hormonal disorder, immune system disease, liver disease, migraines, seizure disorders. If you are taking one of the following medications, consult a health care practitioner prior to use: blood thinners, anticoagulant, anticonvulsant, blood pressure medications, immunosuppressive medications, sedative, hypnotic or psychotropic medications, steroids.
